Braille & Large Print Menus

At Dotty About Braille, we specialise in creating accurate, high-quality braille and large print menus and documents that make everyday experiences more inclusive.

Founded by Hayley Kellard, a disabled, award winning entrepreneur based in Greater Manchester, the business was built on lived experience, a passion for braille and a desire to improve accessibility and make everybody feel included.

From personalised cards, gifts and letters to professional transcription services to bespoke brochures and menus, our focus has always been simple: making sure blind and visually impaired people can access information independently and confidently.

Hayley from Dotty About Braille stood with Glen from TM Print in front of a roller banner which advertises the braille and large print menus, they are each holding a menu.

As accessibility becomes an essential part of the hospitality experience, we’re proud to be working in partnership with TM Print, a UK print management company with years of experience producing high-quality menus for hotels, restaurants, and hospitality venues nationwide.

By combining Dotty About Braille’s specialist expertise in braille and large print accessibility with TM Print’s national production capabilities, we can now offer hospitality venues a seamless, professional solution for fully accessible menus, alongside their standard menu printing.

Together, we provide:

  • Professionally produced braille menus that are accurate, durable, and easy to read
  • Clear, carefully designed large print menus for comfortable and accessible reading
  • Full-colour, front-and-back printed covers to ensure menus remain fully on brand
  • Flexible format options: braille only, large print only, or a combined version for a truly inclusive solution
  • A streamlined service from design to production to delivery
  • One trusted supplier for all standard and accessible menu formats

This partnership ensures every guest, including those who are blind or visually impaired, can enjoy the same level of service and inclusion.

Why Choose Us

At Dotty About Braille, this work is personal. Hayley is visually impaired herself, has a real passion for braille and holds an advanced braille accreditation.

She understands first-hand how meaningful it is to be able to access a menu independently, without having to rely on others.

This isn’t a profit-driven add-on service. Our goal is simple: to increase the number of hospitality venues across the UK offering braille and large print menus. Fair pricing means accessibility is achievable for all.

By partnering with TM Print, who bring over 35 years of experience producing high-quality menus for the hospitality sector, we combine specialist accessibility knowledge with established print expertise and nationwide production capability.

We offer:

  • Specialist, accredited braille expertise backed by lived experience
  • Over three decades of professional menu production knowledge
  • Fair and accessible pricing
  • Fast turnaround times, with menus typically ready for dispatch within 1–2 weeks
  • Consistent quality across all standard and accessible formats

We don’t just understand accessibility, we believe in it. And we’re committed to helping hospitality venues deliver inclusive dining experiences without complexity or inflated costs.

Why it Matters

For many blind and visually impaired customers, ordering food in a restaurant can mean relying on dining companions to read the menu aloud. This may seem like a small adjustment, but it removes independence and in busy, noisy environments, it can be frustrating and impractical.

And then of course, what if all diners are visually impaired? Then staff, who are already dealing with multiple tables, need to read the full menu out, which isn't efficient for anybody, can delay service and result in disappointed customers.

Providing braille and large print menus allows guests to browse, choose, and order with confidence, just like every other customer.

Accessibility isn't just about compliance, it should be about experience too.

Hospitality venues that offer accessible menus:

  • Demonstrate genuine commitment to inclusion and equal service
  • Enhance the customer experience for blind and visually impaired guests
  • Support compliance with equality and accessibility legislation
  • Strengthen brand reputation and social responsibility credentials
  • Increase loyalty from disabled customers, their families, and wider networks

An inclusive menu isn’t a specialist extra, it’s a practical, visible statement that every guest is welcome and valued.
